Painting en plein air during the Lafayette Square Plein Air Competition

SUMMARY OF PLACE:: I was participating in the 1st Annual Lafayette Square Plein Air Competition. The morning was clear and hot, unseasonably so for a Memorial Day. I was looking north, a few houses down from the attractive flower pots in front of the home at address #9 Benton Place.
INSPIRATION:: My inspiration for this piece was light. With the arrival of first heat wave of the year, I was drawn to the sun's affect on the landscape.
