Painting en plein air at Faust Park in Chesterfield, MO

SUMMARY OF PLACE:

This vintage barn and carriage are on exhibit at Faust Park.  The park includes a historic village that seeks to preserve the vernacular architecture and history of rural Missouri.  The early morning sunlight was illuminating the front one-third of the shed. 

INSPIRATION:

I was immediately impressed with the pattern of light in this scene.  My goal for the painting was to depict the light as streaked down the interior log wall and then fell across the vintage carriage.
