Painting in studio, working from photo taken in Marco Island, FL

SUMMARY OF PLACE:
A beautiful day was beginning.  I was looking directly west toward the Gulf of Mexico.  A catamaron was pulled near the water to entice customers.  Beach walkers were spooking the colonies of seagulls.
INSPIRATION:
For this painting, I wanted to capture the feel of a morning on Florida's gulf coast.  People are sparse on the beach early in the day.  Only intent walkers and serious seashell collectors are seen.  Seagulls and resort rentals are always prominent, however.
