"Corn in the Augusta Bottom, Fog"
Oil   8x10
Summary of Place: View subject
My plan was to spend the day painting in Augusta, MO.  Foremost, I wanted to paint a sunset at the end of the day, so I was in no big hurry to get to Augusta.  However, I checked the weather forecast as soon as I got up, and it indicated that Augusta was currently experiencing fog.  I didn't even shave before I left.  To my delight, the fog was still heavy when I arrived.  Fog lays heaviest in the river bottoms, leading me right to this scene.
Inspiration and Design:
My primary goal for this painting was to depict fog in the Missouri river bottom planted with corn.
