The Divine Light is present in the night sky.  The bison tracks in the snow lead the viewer's eye to the star.  The landscape is typical of the Black Hills of South Dakota. 

My goal for this painting was to depict the Divine Light as it may have appeared in South Dakota.  The lowly animals in the fields there would have surely been bison.
