Painting en plein air at Castlewood State Park in Ballwin, MO

SUMMARY OF PLACE:
It was a mostly sunny day with the temperature reaching nearly 70 degrees.  I was painting with the Missouri Plein Air Painters.  The painters assembled in the creek bed near the Park Office.  I was looking northwardly down the creek.
INSPIRATION:
When young, my brother and I spent countless hours exploring small Missouri Creeks.  The creeks provided constant entertainment: catching tadpoles, skipping rocks, and racing small, stick-boats.  I feel very much at home in a Missouri creekbed.  For this painting, I wanted to capture the beauty of sunlit sycamores, a prominent feature of Missouri creeks.
