My wife's parents reside in Rapid City, South Dakota.  When Penny and I visit, we always go to see Mount Rushmore.  The sculpture is a remarkable feat.  The scale and size of that art project will likely never be duplicated.  I particularly like viewing the Rushmore faces from different light situations and vantage points. 

My primary goal for this painting was to capture the interesting shadow pattern on the faces.
