"Tribute to My Mom"
Watercolor 8x10
Summary of Place:
My mother was born and raised on an American-German family farm in Rich Fountain, Missouri.
Being born in October 1930, her viewpoint is shaped by the Great Depression.
She lives frugally and self-sufficiently.
I set up a still-life around green beans from my mom and dad's garden.
The supporting objects were ones that I associate with my mother preparing beans, paring knife and tea towels.
Inspiration and Design:
This painting is a tribute to my mom and all that she has taught me.
One should take care of yourself by eating good food.
