Forest Park is Saint Louis's cure for what ails you.  The park is large urban oasis and the heart of this city. 

The weather on this morning was mostly clear and very mild for early January.  As usual on weekends, the park was alive with Saint Louisans pursuing outdoor activities.  In particular, the Saint Louis Track Club was holding a race as part of their Frostbite Series. 

My goal for this piece was to capture the defining characteristics of Forest Park: patches of forest, expansive open fields for play, and tall buildings on the eastern perimeter.  The most prominent building in the composition is the Siteman Cancer Center of Barnes-Jewish Hospital North.
